Meet the edwin team

VENUE MANAGER – CRAIG MURPHY
With over 14 years in the hospitality industry, Craig worked his way up from humble beginnings at his local pub to senior roles in high volume craft cocktail bars in Dublin City, before travelling across Germany and Switzerland and, luckily for us, landing here in Melbourne at Edwin.

Craig’s favourite food and wine pairing from the Edwin menu is the Tellurian Mouvedre, paired with the Great Ocean Road Duck Cassoulet.

Don’t let his youthful looks fool you – Craig is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all things food and beverage, and he loves sharing that knowledge with our guests at Edwin.

HEAD CHEF – RITESH PATIL

With over 13 years of culinary experience, Ritesh has a number of international accolades under his belt, including Head Chef of the Times Food Guide India’s Best All Day Dining Restaurant.

Having grown up wanting to be a Doctor or Engineer, we’re so grateful that Ritesh followed his passion for food to train as a chef, and to ultimately join us here at Edwin.

Believing that the most powerful dining experiences come from quality, uncomplicated food, Ritesh’s vision for his menu at Edwin was to pay tribute to the classic European Wine Bar with an uncomplicated menu focused on quality local produce.

SOMMELIER – YU KUROSAWA

Edwin’s Sommelier, Yu Kurosawa, is not your average sommelier. The perfect choice to act as the voice for Edwin’s impressive wine selection, Yu is passionate about supporting local producers and growers – and believes that expanding your wine horizons can be pleasantly surprising.

Learning English and learning about wines simultaneously in a French Restaurant in New Zealand, Yu was thrown into the wonderful world of wine – and fell in love. With a refreshing approach to wine, Yu encourages our guests to try something new, while also respecting their personal preferences.

With a well-trained palette and a refreshingly unpretentious approach to wine, Yu invites you to have a chat about the wines you already like and to taste a drop or two that may (pleasantly) surprise you.
