FEBRUARY WINE PROGRAM FEATURING THE BEECHWORTH REGION

Each month at Edwin, we explore a different wine region, with tastings from a different winemaker each week. In February, our region of choice is Beechworth, and we look forward to giving you the opportunity to get a taste of the region.

The mineral rich hills around Beechworth are home to some of Victoria’s best loved vineyards. Tended by wine growing families with a fierce independence and a passion for making the best possible artisanal wines, Beechworth is a refined wine region, with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir the standout drops of the region. Geographically defined as a hillside wine growing region, with granite, shale and slate gravelly slopes contributing to the concentrated, intense wines produced in this area. Innovation is celebrated by the makers of this region, with local vignerons experimenting with unusual varietals.

THURSDAY, 6 TH FEBRUARY – FIGHTING GULLY ROAD

Different Drop describes Fighting Gully Road wines as & delivering rare value for the region. They are powerful, complex and imbued with a sense of place. In a small region stacked
with some of the biggest names (and price-tags) in Australian wine, it’s nice to find a hidden gem.

Fighting Gully Road is certainly a gem, and we’re really excited to share their wines with you.

THURSDAY, 13 TH FEBRUARY – PENNYWEIGHT WINERY

Pennyweight was established by Stephen Newton Morris, great-grandson of GF Morris, founder of Morris Wines.
